   Internet Monitoring

It was estimated in 2001 that there are more than one million pornographic images of children on the Internet and that child pornography sites receive a million hits in a month.  In 2006 it was estimated that there were 6000 websites containing indecent images of children.  Both contact sex offenders and internet sex offenders require supervision and monitoring to ensure that access to this material is limited as much as possible.  In consultation with Dr. Jim Tanner of KBSolutions we have developed a risk grid which may be useful in determining the level of monitoring a contact sex offender might require.  We also employ a list of internet use risk factors developed by Dr. Tanner in our child pornography and internet use evaluations.
